One email a week. Every saving in it checked by two people first.

AloSave is a small value desk in Porto, Portugal. We read the fine print on discounts, price drops and loyalty perks so you don't have to, then send the ones that survive in a short Thursday email called The Weekly Save.

Sent every Thursday Edited in Porto Free to read, easy to leave

A desk, not a feed

Most savings emails are generated: a script scrapes a hundred merchants, a template wraps the results, and the send goes out whether or not anything in it is worth your time. AloSave works the other way round. Two editors sit at one desk in Porto, look at what came in during the week, and keep only what holds up when you actually try to use it.

That means fewer items, and it means we can tell you exactly what we found: the real price after the discount, the catch in the conditions, and whether the saving is still there the morning we hit send.

If we wouldn't forward it to a friend with a one-line note, it doesn't go in the email.

How a saving gets into the email

  1. We collect during the week

Reader tips, merchant newsletters, price-tracker alerts and our own browsing go into one shared list. Nothing is paid to be there and nothing is sponsored.

  2. Both of us test it

One editor walks the offer to the final checkout step and notes the actual total. The other reads the conditions: minimum spend, regions, expiry, exclusions. If the two notes disagree, the item is out.

  3. We write it up on Wednesday and send on Thursday

Each item gets a plain description, the exact code or link, the conditions in one line, and the date we last confirmed it. On Thursday morning we re-check the codes, then send.

What a typical issue contains

Every Weekly Save follows the same shape, so you can skim it in the order you like.

The pick of the week
One saving we think most readers can use, with the code or link and the checkout total we saw. This is also published on the issue page.
Three shorter finds
Smaller savings on everyday things: groceries, transport passes, software renewals, household basics. Each with its conditions in a single line.
Price watch
An item a reader asked us to follow, and where its price sits this week compared with last.
What we dropped
Offers that looked good but failed our check, and the reason. Often the most useful part.
Reply address
Every issue comes from a mailbox a person reads. Reply to it and Rui answers within a couple of days.

This week's issue is online

The pick of the week, with its code and conditions, lives on a single page so you can find it after the email has scrolled away.

How we handle your inbox

We send marketing email, and we want to be straightforward about what that means. These are the rules we hold ourselves to on every send.

  • What we send. The Weekly Save: a short editorial email with savings we have checked, plus the occasional correction if something we published turned out to be wrong.

  • How often. Once a week, on Thursday. No daily sends, no "flash" extras, no re-sends to people who didn't open.

  • How to stop. Every email has an unsubscribe link in the footer. One click removes you and takes effect immediately. You can also email contact@alosave.com with "unsubscribe" in the subject and we will remove you within two business days.

  • Where we are. AloSave, Rua de Cedofeita 256, 2.º, 4050-174 Porto, Portugal. This address appears in every email we send.

  • Your data. We store your email address and the date you subscribed, nothing more. We don't sell, rent or trade lists. Details are in the privacy policy and the terms of use.

  • Talk to us. Write to contact@alosave.com for anything: a saving to check, a complaint, a request to see or delete your data. A person reads it.

Questions readers ask

Is the email free?

Yes. There is no paid tier and no plan for one. If a link in the email earns us a small referral fee when you buy, we say so next to that link, and it never changes whether an item makes the cut.

Which countries do the savings apply to?

Most items work across the EU and the UK, and many are global online offers. Each item states its region in the conditions line, so you never have to guess.

Why did I receive your email?

Because the address was entered on this site, or someone shared an issue with you and you subscribed from it. If you don't remember doing either, use the unsubscribe link in the email footer or write to contact@alosave.com and we'll remove you and look into how it happened.

Can I suggest a saving?

Please do. Reply to any issue or email contact@alosave.com with the link and where you saw it. We credit readers by first name unless you ask us not to.

What happens when a code stops working?

We update the issue page as soon as we know, and we list it under "What we dropped" the following week. Tell us if you hit a dead code and we'll check it the same day.

How do I unsubscribe?

Click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email. It works instantly and doesn't ask why. If you prefer, email contact@alosave.com and we'll do it for you within two business days.
